1996 Volkswagen Polo air vapour lock fuel tank - something stuck in tank

Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 1996
Variant: 1.6 Polo Classic Manual
Categories: Leaks & Noises
How do you remove a small bottle plastic cap 1.5 cm from the Fuel Tank that fell in accidentally while throwing Fuel Injector cleaner.

This now is causing an Air / Vapour Lock. Everytime I fill up the at filling Stations the Pump cuts, it needs to pull back in order to fill then too quite slowly.

Does the Fuel tank Airlock have a dangerous affect to the general driving of the car.

Unlikely that would cause an " Air / Vapour Lock " problem as being plastic will just float about . More likely to be a venting of tank problem .You might be able to get it out through the tank unit / fuel gauge sender opening if you remove that .
