2000 Volkswagen Polo non starter, just a "clunk"

Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.4i se 16 valve
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Ok so heres my problem:
When you turn the key all you get is a "Clunk" and the car doesn't start. Needs either a bump/jump start to get her going and after that she will run for anything between 2 days and 1 month. Had the following checked:
Whole fuel system inc fuel filter and all sensors was cleaned out, throttle body checked but ok, battery checked and drained but ok, starter checked voltage and ok, alternator checked and ok, air filter checked and ok, keys checked, immobiliser reset, coil pack checked and ok.
Sometimes she wont jump or bump start but most of the time she does.
Anyone with any ideas most appreciated.
Away to get new timing belt as just hitting the 60,000 miles and a service. Timing belt checked also, sorry. This is cracking me up!!
I've run out of ideas but wondering if the battery could still be the culprit even though checked for dead cell?

Thanks in advance x

First thing I would do is get battery load tested , simple two min check . Could also be a bad bit on starter , but check all wiring / connections . Check earth wire from engine to body .

when you say `"battery checked and drained but ok" what exactly do you mean?if you are having to jump start the car it sounds most likely it is battery or starter motor problem.have you checked the battery for an excessive current drain?
