1997 Volkswagen Polo pre-heat glow plugs not working

Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 1997
Variant: 6N sdi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Have just had all the pre-heat glow plugs replaced. Car was starting fine. This morning the pre-heat warning light did not come on. Car would not start presumably because there is no juice getting to the glow plugs. Have checked the fuses. What else should I check?
Thanks

This applies to some Polo's . Dont know if it covers your year / model , worth a look .

Glow plug relay number 167 in the fuse board, usually bottom right relay as you look at the fuse board, either that or there's a fusable link which is situated under the bonnet on the bulk head below the window wipers, approx in the centre of the car, its a black plate with wires going underneath it, the top prises up and there's a fuse which looks like a spanner, this fuse controls power to the glow plugs

I agree with JG .Buy a haynes manual and then youll be able to locate the glo plug relay on you car and replace it,saving yourself money

Probably the glow plug relay faulty - simple & cheap enough to fix.
