1997 Volkswagen Polo not sparking

The car cut out while driving and now wont start the starter motor works but engine just does not seem to spark. have checked all 4 plugs and none are sparking, so changed coil and checked distributor but still no spark.Have checked the fuses and they are all fine.Have no idea what hte problem is and a bit of help would be appreciated. cheers

Think I checked that! Is That the centre lead in the distributor that is connected to a little box??

That's correct .If there is power going into distributor , check rotor arm , also check dist. is turning. If all ok could be fault in distributor itself .

i am sitting with the same problem at the moment i have replace the coil the cables to the dizzy put a new dizzy as well as spark plugs i am still not getting it to start up if it does it runs for a few minutes and dies i have been wondering if it could be the relay i would highly appreciate any help or ideas
