Doors dropping and scraping paintwork

2006 Volkswagen Polo 1.4
Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.4
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have a 3 door polo and I've noticed a patch of rust appearing on my drivers side door sill at the back and on the door in the same corner (its also started to scuff in the same place on the passenger side). When I took it to the dealership they told me i must have trapped my seatbelt in the door and that had caused the damage, I didn't agree so they took it to the body shop who said the doors had moved but that i must have let them catch in the wind so the problem wont be covered by my warantee.

I have taken it to another garage to get a second opinion and they have said that the doors have dropped and are catching the sill when they shut. There is no evidence of driver misuse as was stated by the dealer.

Has anybody else had this problem or advise on the best way to put my case to Volkswagen as they dont want to accept responsibility?

If this was my car,and got no joy from the dealer ship,I would get my car checked by the AA for there opinion,in writing an show them a photo copy,it is obvious to me that your doors have dropped, cant see trapping a seat belt could cause this problem, the hinges would have to be very loose,If they were very loose, then yes,the thing is they should not be loose,(should they,if they were loose even slamming the doors would make them drop, dont give in ,go back with some one,ask them to dress official, you do the talking, tell your friend to say nothing, but to take notes, this makes them very worried, good luck
(PS this is what have done, and it worked for me)

this is the same on the vauxhall corsas and the dealers just sorted it every time as they want 100% customer satisfaction all i can say is go back and persue it until the problem is sorted and it would be possible for the seat belt buckles to have caused this as there would also be a nice dent there aswell and you also have proof from another garage saying that the doors have dropped
