Car: Volkswagen Polo

recently i have bought a polo 1999 model 1.4cl and had a full service and my petrol is still dying super quick for £5 i got 25 miles i should at least get 35-40 becuase i drive normal and i do extra urban and urban driving but more urban driving my exhaust does seem loud even tho its not a blower i got it checked for a hole but there seems to be none is there a way to fix this problem i think it must have something to do with the fuel going around in the engine (maybe)

no it was done by a family friends place it was done for free ,yesterday i checked my sprak plugs and fliter and it was okay (brand new) but i damaged my fliter abit could this have resulted in the mpg lost?

the exhagust does sound loud i did get it checked for a hole but there was none
i do know whats wrong
i shift on about 2,500 revs

Depends on what damage you did to air fiter . If it's blocking air flow to engine it will mean the engine will be running rich ,using more fuel .
