1999 Volkswagen Polo cuts out

when I slow down to park or at roundabouts it cuts out. I have no problems starting/restarting the car at any time. Could it be to do with the fuel valve?

may be air leak on a split vac pipe. throttle valve/ idle control needs cleaning but will need re-setting on cumputer followinng work to set idle perameters.
