Engine idle rpm fluctuating

2006 Volkswagen Polo 1.4
Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.4
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
just noticed when i moved my wife,s car that engine idling between 600-700rpm to 900-1000rpm,which is quite a large fluctuation.i have filled the fuel tank and put in a bottle of fuel additive.also, according to vehicle build checks, the car is not suitable for the new E10 fuel,so i have to put in super unleaded(E5).

What is the idle speed when engine at full working temp ? Depends on when in 2006 car was built / model / engine , on fuel type required .

Volkswagen
With the exception to those models listed below, which used the first generation FSI engines, E10 is cleared for use in all Volkswagen petrol engine vehicles.
Polo – 1.4 litre (63kW) FSI made from February 2002 to June 2006

You are correct and safer to do what you are and use the super unleaded(E5).

I have same problem with -06 bky 1.4 polo. When start cold, idling is ok(~900->). But whet it goes warm idling is 600-700 and it starts shaking. I tried clean throttle body but nothing change. What next?
