2004 Volkswagen Polo airbag fault

Airbag light is on all the time when driving. Have sprayed wd40 on switches under front seats. Any ideas. Thanks. .

Yes,
clean off all the WD!
that stuff is oil/water dispersant.
not the kind of thing for electrical contacts.
Electrical contact cleaner would make more sense.
And a code read of the safety restraint system would be a good start.
see if there's any fault codes.
Leave the WD 40 for things that squeak.
