Major Electrical Fault

2001 Volkswagen Polo 1.4 se manual
Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 2001
Variant: 1.4 se manual
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Had the car serviced, then decided to install my subwoofer too. Car was alright for about a week. Was driving home and the ABS light came on, then Airbag and then Handbrake light. Radio went off and the dashboard lights began flashing and went out. Headlights dimmed and then the car totally lost power. AA man said it was alternator or loose connection. Checked connections and changed Alternator, and it still wont work :/ even if we just start it when we get it up the road the electrics go funny again and dies

there is a small 2 wired connector below the battery tray but easily accessed from underneath, the two wires are likely to have snapped off, very common with these cars, simply extend the wire and and duplicate the plug using spade connector and fill in the gaps using simple electrical putty to ensure a water tight connection, i had this problem and tried 3 different alternators 1 battery and a power cable (alternator to battery) and it was all a tiny wiring fault
