My car idles very high when I start it and then comes down to normal again but goes up down up down while it idles and when I drive it jerks sometimes and backfires sometimes. Please advise me what I can do and thank you.

Check for any air , vacuum , breather hoses leaking .Also check plugs and coil packs (if fitted on that model)
