my polo is a 1.9 diesel and when the car is ticking over it vibrates the whole car and the sound on the inside is very loud, i have checked one of the mounts and jacked the other side of the engine up of the engine mount tht is under the battery and it only made a slight difference, i have checked if the exhaust is touching and secured it but i still cant find out what the problem is, can anyone give any suggestions on how to improve or fix. thank you

Sounds like it could be the flywheel. My wife had a polo with a similar problem, it vibrated badly at idle, and quit when you increased the revs.
