2000 Volkswagen Polo dead! electrics fail..

Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.4 SE (60 BHP)
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Oil pump went the car so changed engine. Car was alright for about a week. Was driving home and the ABS light came on, then Airbag and then Handbrake light. Radio went off and the dashboard lights went out. Headlights dimmed and then the car totally lost power. AA man said it was alternator or loose connection. Checked connections and changed Alternator, and it still wont work :/ even if we just start it when we get it up the road the electrics go funny again and dies. NEEDS HELP!

Hi, I have the EXACT same problem with the exact same smpytons for my polo. It started and died on me twice on one night whilst driving. People are telling me its the CrankShaft sensor. I really hope you could tell me what the source of this problem is because i think even diagnosing it will show faults that dont even exist.
