1999 Volkswagen Polo needs a push to start

vw polo 1.0 T reg (1998-99) wont start. battery fine, car electrics all working, new starter motor, fuel and oil in the car.
turn the ignition and makes no sound part from the fuel pump feeding the car engine. will start by pushing the car or using the jump leads.

Tap your starter motor with a piece of wood or some thing my work or check connections. If that don't work then your starter motor is broken.
