1998 Volkswagen Polo high fuel consumption

My car has got a high fuel consumption all of a sudden its doing about 11 kms/ltr and it cuts off sometimes when ideling iv serviced it but it hasnt helped could it be that the fuel pressure regulator needs to be changed.

Did you change the fuel filter? if not, do that first. it would be worth getting the fuel pressure checked if problem persists

Yes i put in a new fuel filter and fuel pump.t

ok. it would seem to come back to low fuel pressure/regulator problem. You will need to find a garage to get it checked properly.
I assume all the sparks/electrics are good and strong?

Yes all electricts are good the car is still in good a condition its only done 65 000 kms

Is the engine running on all cylinders ie is it a bit lumpy, take it for a code read, if there are no fault codes at least the live data can be read and will probably show the fault
