2001 Volkswagen Polo loses power

when im driving the car loses all power its as if its not in gear at all. when i take my foot off the accelerator and put it back on the car goes again. the engine management light has also came back on.

You need to get it scanned and see what fault codes are shown .

have you changed the fuel filter ? its just in front of petrol tank always overlooked
