2001 Volkswagen Polo 1.4 MPI
Car: Volkswagen Polo
Year: 2001

Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
an error is reported on cylinder 3 (misfires), engine trembles at times (not constantly) both on cold and after engine heats up. it happens randomly - have replaced everything on the electric side of things, compression is same on all cylinders. has anyone encountered the fault before?

any piece of information would help a lot.
thank you very much!

If it has pencil ignition coils it could be one of those breaking down . If it has plug leads it could be one of those .Depends on what's fitted on that year of car .Take it plugs are o.k and all look the same ?

what year of polo is it? if it is a 2002 onwards then the coil packs and cam position sensor is a common fault?
