2006 Volkswagen Passat vibration

Car: Volkswagen Passat
Year: 2006
Variant: Passat Se Tdi 140 (4 Door Saloon),
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I bought a Passat Se Tdi 140 (4 Door Saloon) 2 months ago. On the test drive I noticed slight rattle from the passenger side dashboard When driving in low gears. Since then, I have noticed a slight vibration in the pedals. The vibration is there at all speeds. The car was MOT'ed 3 months ago. Could the 2 things be related?

Could be anything , hard to diagnose without hearing it .Rattle could be a cable , pipe , exhaust / bracket / heatshield etc. Vibration at pedals could be a engine mounting .

I have been told that it could be the CV joints. Does this make sense? I want to start with the cheapest attempt at a solution. The local guy wanted to take the dashboard apart with no guarantee, this could cost up to 10 hours labour!

does it vibrate the pedals whilst the car is stationary ? if yes then wont be anything to do with driveshafts or cv,s as suggested and more likely be engine or gearbox mount like whittinghame says
