You could take the advice you gave to NUGGY and scrap it !!!!!!What year is car ? Are the hoses going to heater matrix hot ?

Try Radweld or any other sealer for rad .You'll need to fix that or you will knacker engine .

If you have been running it with rad leaking , you could have done head gasket , which would cause your heater and cooling system to airlock .Check the heater hoses going to heater matrix as alredy suggested .
