ESP warning light

2003 Volkswagen Passat 1.9TDi SE 130
Car: Volkswagen Passat
Year: 2003
Variant: 1.9TDi SE 130
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Had a new tyre fitted a few days ago and when driving home later that day the car started to mis-fire/lose drive. Drove for a few hundred yards to safely pull over and ESP light on dash board came on. Pulled over and switched engine off and left for a few minutes, switched back on and everything seemed to be okay. Started car okay next morning and drove away and same problem occurred. Fault seems to go away when switching engine of and back on again and only seems to happen when engine is cold...HELP!

This is from Passat forum re. warning light ,

This can happen if all the tyres are not matched in sizes too

Low tyres pressures cause this as well, especially if its just one tyre.

Worth a check since it started when tyre changed ?

first things first,if fault only started since tyre changed then check you have the correct size tyre fitted, check all your tyre pressures and adjust accordingly, make sure the wheel has been fitted correctly,if all ok so far then start looking at your wheel speed sensors for damage

The other posts all sound like a first step but I have had the same fault on 02 plate and someone an incorrect brake light bulb so might be worth a quick check
