2003 Volkswagen Passat missfire when cold.

My diesel 1.9 tdi on an 03 plate with 110,000 miles only. Has a missfire for the first 7 mins when cold, at 2.5-3k revs. only. Please can someone advise me.

Could be Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor .
