1992 Volkswagen Passat juddering on acceleration

Car: Volkswagen Passat
Year: 1992
Variant: 2.0 Estate Manual
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Having had a host of things replaced, i.e. the head gasket, head, catalytic converter, air-mass meter and temperature sender guage, I am still at a lose (as is my local mechanic) to explain why I still get the juddering on acceleration. It only occurs after it's switched off and then switched on again after a brief break. If the car is left for around an hour without use the problem doesn't seem to appear but will again if you stop and switch off for a short time then try to drive it again. When the juddering starts I can press the accelerator pedal down to the floor and there's no response, no revs showing on counter then it suddenly kicks back in again though will start juddering again further along, it doesn't stop after one time. I think I'm slowly rebuilding the thing and don't really want to spend much more on it as it's not exactly a new car so any (cheap) fixes/advice will be gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance for any help offered.

the only thing it can be is the throttle position sensor replace this and you will have you car back again running like new what this does is communicate with the ecu and tells it how much throttle is being used ie the amount of fuel and so on is required with this not operating properly you get the judder

I decided as that part is around £300+ not to bother getting it so I disconnected the existing one and taped it off. Looks as though it thought it was supposed to be idling but as there's no idle switch there appears to be no reason to have this bit working (older model didn't have the switch apparently). Been driving it all day with it taped off and not a single judder!! Thanks for the advice, can keep my lunch down now!!

I have a question that I need help to.
My Passat (1997 model, SE 20v turbo) has a problem which sounds very similar to the question posted by another person on here. but I think mine could be a little different?
Everytime I accelerate when I'm on the motorway, the car gets upto 70 or 80 mph and starts to judder. Why is this do you think?
I have had everything checked and some mechanics cant figure out what it is either?
I've had a new drive shaft put in the passanger side (needed doing anyway) which i thought could be the route of the problem, checked the springs, done the tracking, etc...... the list goes on!
I need a solution, one that is not going to cost an arm and a leg!
The car is brilliant, I dont want to give up on her yet!! drives excellent around the small roads! great power too! Everything else works great!
It is driving me up the wall, can anyone help????
