2004 Volkswagen Passat diesel in engine oil

Three years trouble free motoring, 158000 miles on clock. The engine started Knocking an then wanted to accelerate, With a smoke screen James Bond would have been proud of, Oil sump has filled with diesel oil, Took 4 Ltrs out of the sump and level was still far too high, Turbo seems OK. Any help or advice with this would be appreciated .

Only way that can happen is a faulty injector.
It's leaking fuel into the bore.
DO NOT RUN THIS ENGINE UNIIL IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED.
Seriously bad things can happen.
