How do I take the inner panel off on the drivers of a volkswagon passat 97
Problem added: Feb 13, 2012 (12 years ago)
its probably bolted or riveted on but first you will have to remove the rubber bungs in the panel so you can access the bolts that hold the runners to the glass as the glass stays in when you take the panel off. you will have to put the window in the correct postion to do this

I undid the bolts but it seems to be fixed by the electric motor but I don't see any bolts to remove it.

Its not fixed by the electric motor, its, the window mechanism thats part of the inner dr panel as previously recc, you need to remove the two rubber grommets from the panel put the window to a height where you can see the two torq, headed screws loosen them ,note they loosen the oposite way from normal as its basically the head of a bolt holding the window glass in position ,lift out the glass.there are x 3 plastic rivets that req, punching out which will allow removal of the panel.p.s.if your doing all this because the outer dr,handle is not operating try lubricating the dr catch first.
