2003 Volkswagen Golf slipping clutch - whittingehame

Car: Volkswagen Golf
Year: 2003
Variant: GTi
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
Re previous posting. Golf now booked in VW dealer to investigate slipping clutch so won't know if problem under warranty till they have it apart.

Last time dealer very quick to admit liability and change parts before I got there so this time I will be hanging around to check over the clutch parts etc unbeknown to them.

Can you please advise me what I should be looking for, what I should be taking photos of and questions I should be asking.

Thank you

You will be lucky if they let you into the workshop and take photographs. Good luck!.

Check for any oil , fuel on clutch centre plate causing slip or worn plate on rivets . Also have a look at this .Once it is stripped down , you are perfectly and legally entitled to see and photograph if you want , the clutch assembly .
