Volkswagen Golf workshop warning regarding auto gearbox

Used to come up with warning regarding auto gearbox being able to start if not in park or neutral so drive to garage to sort it. However after fitting my first new battery in 10 years since new an AGM battery error has not reappeared whereas used to come up every day or two, so seems like system has re booted itself after battery disconnected. This is just for general info and do not need any advice.
