Momentary loss of power

2004 Volkswagen Golf
Car: Volkswagen Golf

I have a very intermittent problem with a VW Golf. Sometimes when approaching a road junction or roundabout at very low revs, when I go to accelerate , there is a very brief period of time, say 2,3 seconds where nothing happens ! It only happens every now and then, but is getting dangerous. Any ideas ?

Coil pack/s breaking down intermittently causing misfire are very , very common .

It always happens when at very low speeds and feels like a fuel starvation. Does this still sound like a coil problem ?

COULD be , spark breaks down under load .Common fault but just one of many possibilities Getting it scanned may show fault code .Check plugs also if applicable , you don't say what engine / model of Golf , doesn't help
