2000 Volkswagen Golf break shields replaced (rust/ware/scraping) now theres a whistling sound?

Car: Volkswagen Golf
Year: 2000
Variant: Golf Plus
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Hi,

I apoligise if this has been asked before, i have been looking in the Forums for answers but they vary and are more concerned with the Pads.

Basically i had to get my Break Dust Plates replaced due to terrible condition they had rusted to, they caused a horrible dragging noise which is what alerted. Anyway, since they have been replaced a week ago, i have heard intermitently a whistling from what sounds like the front right wheel area...not upon applying the break though?

What could this be? Plate surely dont need to be bedding in, there is nothing for them to ware down, they are just shields right?

Any help would be great, i will obv go back to the mechanic soon for his advice but i just wanted some responses here also to maybe releave some anxiety about it..My luck with cars it terrible, my last car (Audi A3) spend so much time at the mechanics i think he should have paid half the road tax..

Thanks in advance,

Brad

Sounds like the dust shield may be rubbing a little bit, did you have new bearings fitted at the same time, must be something that was done whilst the covers were being changed, either it just needs bending a little away or repositioning
