i have a 1.4 golf petrol,every time i go to start it there is a odd sound behind my steering wheel and it knocks the clock off to all the zero`s and if a set the clock back to the right time again,then go to start it,it does the same,but the car does start,any help please.

A low battery can cause this . Worth charging / testing battery .
