2002 Volkswagen Golf stiff putting into 5th gear

i have an 02 golf 4motion 2.7 6 speed v6 petrol,it seems hard to put it into 5th gear,like you have to force it a bit,but other gears are ok,anybody got any advise for me please,and is it an expensive job to have fixed,many many thanks!!

check gearbox oil level have a full inspection of external gear linkage done to check for wear the linkage may just want adjusting

Check gear linkage and cables .Some say usuing a synthetic gear oil helps also but sometimes using wd40 on linkage is all that's needed but may be cable/s .
