lost my immobiliser fob,been told if its not factory fitted they are not a great problem to solve,but if it is factory fitted,they are a big problem,i cant tell for myself and dont know how you can tell,anybody know how you can tell,or if they were factory fitted in 1997,many thanks for your help

A phone call to Volkswagen with details of your car should be the next step. They should be able to tell you if you the car was fitted with one from manufacture.
