2000 Volkswagen Golf warning light and car alarm

I have a VW Golf Blue Motion ('09 plate). the warning light keeps coming on saying the bonnet is open but it isn't and the car alarm keeps setting off. Any suggestions please?

Faulty bonnet sensor . If 2009 should be still under warranty .

Read post wrong re the year , not under warranty but still faulty sensor .

So should be covered by warranty , let dealers fix it .
