2004 Volkswagen Golf tough first gear

sometimes i struggle to get into 1st gear when the car is warm,ive taken it to the garage to have the clutch looked at,they say its fine.Anyone have any ideas?

I've heard of quite few complaints about this and it's been suggested VW respecified the g/box oil because of gear selection problems a few years back . The idea was to change the transmission oil with a later type full synthetic VAG gear oil. Whether it works or not , can't confirm .

ask your garage to try and adjust the linkage. carnt be sure this will work thow.
