Gunk under oil filler cap only

hi can anyone tell me if its common for a vw bora to have gunk under the oil filler cap but thats it none in the water or in the sump dont over heat no water loss HELP ANYONE

It can happen on any engine. Its often due to the car only doing short/infrequent trips.
If everything else is ok, give it an oil and filter change, and a flush, then if you are only doing short trips, take it out for a good run of at least 30 mins twice a week if poss.

hi i had the exact same problem, my car also juddered slightly during idle, if you remove the breather pipe beside the oil filler cap and the remove the filler cap housing (just twists clockwise and pops off) and give them a clean, inside my breather pipe was filled with that sludge.
