VW Beetle 53 cabriolet - driver's electric window 'sticking' & airbag light on

2003 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet
Car: Volkswagen Beetle
Year: 2003
Variant: Cabriolet
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I put down my driver's car window (electric) and when I went to put it back up, it would not close the last 3 inches. I had to drive in pouring rain to my nephew's house. He pulled & pushed the window till it went up.

When I tried to test if it worked, the window went right down into the door frame and took about another 5 minutes of pressing the button to get the window to move up. Again it stuck about 3 inches from the top.

We got the window back up and I have booked car into garage for next week. Would appreciate advice, so as a female, when I go into the garage I will sound as though I know what is wrong with the car!

There was no 'noise' coming from the window when it was moving (up or down) to indicate a problem. Although it was moving slower.

The airbag light came on recently and I have asked the garage to reset it when car is in next week for the window problem. Can someone advise if this problem could be an 'electrical' fault rather than a fault with airbag? Or is it the garage who can only tell me that?

Many thanks,
Firebushbaby

Could be a weak window motor or possibly fault with channels . You need to get it scanned to see what triggered airbag light .

Yes.... it was the window motor requiring to be replaced.

Airbag was the sensor required to be replaced.
