1998 Vauxhall Tigra very sluggish and misfiring

car was very flat took it to garage said it needed new cat and back box cost of 200 pounds. picked it up aint running any better and now misfiring. very sluggish when pulling away and going up hills any ideas i am slightly annoyed ?????

Dont blame you , wrongly diagnosed . Better checking / replacing plugs , ignition leads , coil pack ,MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor etc before that .

Had the same prob. with my Tigra mk.1, 1400cc. replacing the coil-pack rectified matters.
