Car jumps/doesn't go faster when you accellerate

2000 Vauxhall Tigra 1.4
Car: Vauxhall Tigra
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.4
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When i am accellerating especially on the motorway my car likes to get stuck at one speed and it takes along time to get to 70mph, the revs seem low. Sometimes it jumps when i am pressing on the accellerator.

a little light on info but:
clutch slipping?
could be ignition missfire most likly coil pack.
take care not to damage cat as there expensive to replace.
afraid with missfire a process of diagnosis is reqd and very hard without car.
check plugs leads coils.

i have already given my car a service, and found that i was only running on 3 cylinders. i also had to have a brand new fuel tank could that be anything to do with it?

You will have to see if you are getting a spark at cyl . that is not firing . As "mrsuzuki " suggested , check coil pack etc.
