EGR Valve

1995 Vauxhall Tigra 1.6 16valve
Car: Vauxhall Tigra
Year: 1995
Variant: 1.6 16valve
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Done a diagnostics check on my Tigra. It has been losing power and has a strong exhaust gas smell. The diagnostics came up (47)EGR VALVE as well as (18)Knock Sensor, (29)Fuel Pump Relat - Low Voltage, (71)Air Temp Sensor, (85)Immobiliser and (92)Camshaft Sensor. From what i hear on the internet, the EGR Valve seems like whats causing the loss of power. Anyone think otherwise or agree? Please let me know your thoughts.

Also what would be an easy engine replacement for the tigra?

Thanx

EGR valve is a common fault , but those other faults shown on diagnostic scan are serious also .
