2007 Vauxhall Tigra driver's window not working

Was actually an Opel Tigra Twintop (I'm in Germany and saw this fix on a German site) but definitely the same. Found the fix on this site which advised removing the door/window control but that is not necessary. I had replaced the inner door cable as the hook had come off. On attaching it to the door/window control unit, as soon as I unplugged the large connector connecting the window/lock control on the door card to the control unit in the door the window sprung up so that it went beyond the limit for closing the door! The problem is that the control unit then needs to be reset, but the driver window control on the door card didn't work anymore. The fix is to open the hood fully with the remote hood release switch (the window would move as part of this). Once the hood is down, hold down the driver's side window switch on the door card until the window is completely open and continue to hold the switch down for 10 seconds. Release the switch and then use the remote hood switch to close the hood. Again the windows move (up). Once the hood is secured with the clips, pull the remote driver window switch until the window is fully closed and again keep hold for 10 seconds. Release the switch and the window should be fully functional again (including slight open on exiting the driver door). Hope this helps!
