Does that car even have a carb ? I thought it was a throttle body which I would clean . I would also check , clean or replace MAF if needed and check for any vacuum leaks

Its the 1.8 sport i have cleaned what I thought was a carb lol top of manifold but think its egr and dont think it will be the MAF as its pretty new .car was running fine and then I took air box or with all pipes to the egr then put it all back on properly and then 1 houre down line its doing this .so not realy got a clue .

The MAF can get dirt on it at any time , new or not . If it's been replaced , some were cheap , crap imports which were useless compared to OEM . Check you haven't left or knocked any off hoses when removing air box , you might hear a hissing .

Try disconnecting the MAF when engine running , if no change in running , MAF knackered
