Possibly a pipe has come off or blown you just need to have a look around the engine bay hard to say without more information

I just need to know if the problem is worth fixing or scrap the car. What price I could be looking at.

Is noise a knock / rattle ? Checked engine oil level ? Every chance it could be the engine timing chain . If timing chain , shop around for a price as prices will vary dependent on parts replaced from £4/500 and upwards . A good independent garage will be a lot cheaper than a dealership .

Thankyou, I think it's best I scrap the car as it could cost me more than I paid.
