Odometer light not working

Hi, I bought a used 2005 1.4 Tigra a week ago & the odometer doesn't always light up. It was working fine when I brought the car but I noticed 2 days later it wasn't lighting up. It worked again yesterday but not today. I have moved the dash light display up & down to see if I had turned something off without noticing but no change. Any ideas of what this could be please?
