Impossible to give you an estimate of how much it would take to mend . So many possible causes on that car .With water leaks you sometimes seal one and it will show up another .Fixing them is easy but finding them can take many hours of labour and searching .If you want to spend time and money , best of luck .You say you already know how bad they are for water leaks , so with the year of the car , is it worth spending good money on it ? Hi know this is an old post but will answer it for other people with the same proble who drive a corsa c combo van or tigra. The most common problem on water entering the drivers side is nominally caused because of breaks in the sealer on the brake servo plate. The best way to repair this is to remove the servo to allow you to get proper access to the plate so the sealer can be removed and the plate can be cleaned. I use a primer and a polyurethane sealer to repair the ones I do. The servo it's self has a gasket we do always do away this gasket and use a soft sealer that never drys so should you need to remove the servo again it can be removed easily. We have also found water entering via the bonnet release cable geometry on the servo plate. Other places to check is water entering the sills on the car via the door seals best way to fix this is to remove one of the grommets in the sill. If you have side skirts the grommets are locate behind the skirts.
