Low Revs

1998 Vauxhall Tigra
Car: Vauxhall Tigra
Year: 1998
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi
On starting the engine, cold or warm, It turns over ok but the rev counter decreases and stalls.

Once the car eventually gets going and Ive revved it up over 3000 revs it seems to drive ok, but while initially revving it up is quite noisy crackiling noise.

Any Ideas?

sounds to me like you need the idle speed control valve cleaning or replacing but i would try cleaning it first then if that fails replace the valve as this will cause poor idle and stalling happens to all the tigra and corsa mariva basically all the vauxhalls suffer with this
