hi i own a vauxhall signum 2.2dti 03 plate recently i had a problem with the car cutting out i have learnt if i turn the ignition off and on sometimes it would solve the problem but it is getting worse its happening once a day now and scarely on the motorway as i was overtaking i took the car into a garage had it diagnoised they said it was throttle pedal had it replaced two days later happened again so i have just took car to vauxhall they diagnoised problem to be a code p0638 throttle central circuit also p0400 egr, please can anyone with the same problem tell me what they have done about it before i end up paying a fortune out. thanks gavin

Could be throttle position sensor and housing!!!.

thanks for that witty, have u heard of disconnecting the vacum pipe to the cut off flap? would this cause any emmision problems or mot problems

Not heard of that one before. But would need to find out first before trying, just incase it causes any other damage.

Check all vacuum hoses for leaks or splits . Clean carbon build up on the egr valve or replace .

did you get your signum fixed ? ive got the exact same problem with mine, i had the throttle pedal sensor replaced but the problem is still coming and going ! My mechanic dosent have a clue !

have u tryed ur crack shaft sensor couse tht was my proberlum with my signum then i changed tht and tht was it sorted
