2006 Vauxhall Signum limp mode engine man light on and off

Car: Vauxhall Signum
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.9 CDTI
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
my car goes into limp/safe mode, got stuck going up hill called the AA who read the code (forgot code) but it said that there was air in the system, the engine management light keeps coming on and then the car looses power and crawls at 5mph,then suddenly shoots away with a massive power boost.doing 100 miles sometimes with no probs, then park up for night and just starts doing this.Have taken to a mates garage for computer hook up no code.

If the AA could read the code and your mates computer couldn't , best to take to a garage with correct equipment and get the fault codes rather than guessing possible cause .
