2006 Vauxhall Signum lack of power at low revs

lack of power up to about 1500 revs and when coming to an incline have to drop down the gears.very intermittently the engine management light comes on sometimes for a few seconds sometimes longer.problem seems to have started since new timing belt kit fitting,perhaps coicidence? any clues please.

From what you say , I would get it back for timing check asap .
