2004 Vauxhall Signum engine management light - car cutting out

Car: Vauxhall Signum
Year: 2004
Variant: 2.0dti
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I am at my wits end with this! In May my signum engine management light came on, car stopped although doesn't totally cut out - runs like fuel cant get thru? I think they call this 'safe' mode or something. Hav replaced air flow valve, egr valve and had carb cleaned out. Still the same. Runs ok for 2/3 days then starts again. Diag codes seem to say auto throttle although garages checkin this out say thats fine. Anyone out there who can help me?
Preferably before im bankrupt as it seems everything done so far has done nothing for the repair but plenty to empty my wallet

Thanks

I have had the same problem pretty much since buying the car 7 months ago.

It was serviced in october at a Now Vauxhall dealer at Heathrow, the computer diagnostics showed 11 vaults but they couldn't do anything about then cutting out/engine management light yet still charged me for the diagnostics!

I put up with it still, took it to another Now Vauxhall dealer last week (Richmond) they said they'd fixed it, charged me £100 said management light not on anymore. Next day the same problem is back, only this time it's not just town driving as before, but also when on the motorway. Light comes on, I drop it into neutral and coast until it goes off. Occasionally when town driving, the car will shunt as if it's breaking and I have to sit it out until the light goes off. Sometimes turning off engine and restarting solves it but it's always happening. One thing I noticed more recently, the first time I drive it each day it's fine, but then the next journey onwards it happens again.

At least now I know it's not just me - has anyone got any official word from Vauxhall?

Well i am glad to hear this as i have a vauxhall signum 2.2dti elite. and it dose the same thing i have put it in to a vauxhall garage and after a diagnostic check it came back ok. i was told i had two vaccum pipes split and they repaired them. I was then told if it happens again bring it back but after handing over 100 quid and the car cutting out on me 3 times on the way home from the garage that was the last thing on my mind it is driving me nuts.it happens in town and on the motorway

I have the same problems, mine is a 2.2 petrol, done all the usuall things. New coil pack new O2 Sensors, cleaned out the egr valve and breather pipe. The only thing I have not tried is replacing the fuel regulator which is £130. The car chuggs in every gear aswell when pressing the accelerator. I can't believe that after all these years no one actually knows the cause of this problem. There must be someone out there who can help!
