2004 Vauxhall Signum car will not start & no electrics

Car: Vauxhall Signum
Year: 2004
Variant: 3.2 v6
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The car was driving fine, but in traffic it started to smoke a little from the engine. I stop started the engine several times to get out of traffic, after about 6 times the car failed to start, just ticking noise when trying to turn it over. The hazard lights were on for approx 30 mins, then the car electrics failed with the odd sci-fi / space ship noise randomly coming from the dash. Forgot to mention that the rear brake warning light was on, but the light was working & the stereo info display switches on and off. Please help!

Looks like the battery is run down and will need charging or replacing before you will get it started .Check oil and coolant level first re .smoke .
