1997 Vauxhall Omega central locking

Car: Vauxhall Omega
Year: 1997
Variant: 2.0 SE Auto
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I deadlocked my car last evening. Today I went to use it but can't unlock it.
(Some history. The key fob remote ceased working a few weeks ago, I've been using the key to unlock and lock since then, with no problems, just inconvenience.)
I called the AA and via the boot managed to get into the car and start it. Windows work on the button, but we still can't open the doors. The AA chap thinks that it is a stuck switch in the lock, or perhaps the lock itself is jammed. Yes I've tried WD40, with no success.
Is there anyone out there who has experienced a similar problem and knows of a fix that doesn't include vast amounts of folding stuff!!

Was going to say you'll have to strip door trim and see what's happening , then found this ,

If a door lock jams locked, try this: Remove the drivers door lock button ( it pushes upwards), remove the screws from the door handle, then gently prise the top of the door inside panel away from the door, just enough to get your hand in and fiddle about with the connection that operates the door handle, push it up, pull it down, several times, and the door should open. Then completely remove the door panel and spray a moisture dispersant such as WD 40 onto all the moving parts.

To reiterate Dynamic Dave is correct

I have done this to open my Omega whenever a faulty alternator drained battery
Quoting from handbook - To unlock -
Turn key in driver's door lock towards front of vehicle turning it beyond its resistance point until it will not move any further ( hence reasonable force ). Turn key back to vertical position and remove; raise door handle. The lock button remains in depressed position but door will open

Worth a try , might work .
